Global law firm, Clyde & Co, has today announced the promotion of 19 new partners, effective from 1 May 2024.

Clyde & Co promotes 19 to partner

These promotions further strengthen the firm’s sector expertise globally, with promotions in Aviation, Disputes, Insurance, and Energy, Marine & Natural Resources.

Over a third of the partners are based outside the UK, with four in APAC (three in Sydney and one Singapore), one in Dubai, two in North America (one in Chicago and one in New York). Of the 14 promotions in the UK eight are in London, four are in Manchester, one is in Guildford, and one is in Edinburgh. This includes Luke O’Kane who, earlier this year, the firm promoted to partner, in its Sydney insurance practice.

The promotions reflect the firm’s sustained growth across different regions and sectors. Two years since Clyde & Co’s merger with BLM, the casualty insurance practice welcomes three new partners, reflecting the success of the merger which has led to a combined Casualty practice which serves more than 90% of UK general insurers.

Six of the new partners are part of the Energy, Marine and Natural Resources practice group. These promotions build upon the expansion of this practice group, following the opening of the firm’s new Warsaw office earlier this year with the hire of a multidisciplinary corporate and energy team.

Carolena Gordon, Clyde & Co’s Senior Partner, comments: “At Clyde & Co, the diverse talents of our people are essential to delivering the expert advice and high level of service our clients around the world expect from us. All those promoted this year deliver on this day in, day out. They help us to excel as a firm and provide unparalleled support to our clients in navigating the risks they face.

These new partners reflect the best of our firm and are a testament to the outstanding work being done across all our practice areas. I wish them every success as they start this next chapter of their careers.”
