Our commercial IP team advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property issues, including the drafting and negotiation of IP licences and assignments, along with royalty, agency, distribution, franchising, sponsorship, white label and research & development agreements. We also advise on competition law implications, the licencing of commercially valuable data and on technology transfer and know-how arrangements.

For media organisations, we provide IP advice to television and radio broadcasters, internet and mobile media businesses, publishers and advertisers, in relation to the launch of new channels, intellectual property audits, advising on celebrity enforcement and 'personality rights' and advice on content creation, distribution and acquisition.

For life sciences organisations, we advise on IP licensing, reach collaborations, joint ventures and disclosure agreements.

We work closely with our corporate practice to advise on the IP aspects of M&A transactions, including verification and transmission of title, advising on warranties and reviewing sale documentation, preparing licence and assignment documents, attending to post-settlement transfer and registration issues.
