Clyde & Co bolsters London Regulatory & Investigations Group with partner hire

Rachel joins from DAC Beachcroft, prior to which she worked in-house at insurance broker Willis Towers Watson and oil and gas company BP where she had significant responsibilities for compliance issues. Rachel previously worked at Clyde & Co for ten years, progressing to become a partner.

Rachel is a dispute resolution, investigations and compliance lawyer. She is experienced in both arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC and SIAC) and litigation, largely in the High Court, and with a focus on fraud and breach of contract. Rachel has extensive experience obtaining and defending against freezing injunctions and acts as an independent Supervisory Solicitor.

Rachel also conducts internal investigations for clients across a range of sectors, advising on risk and liability at Board level, as well as following up on remediation of compliance programs and recovery civil litigation and injunctions where there has been fraud or bribery. Rachel advises on compliance matters including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, CCO, Modern slavery and sanctions across a wide range of sectors and internationally from Board Governance, conflict management policies and procedures, through to supply chain due diligence and controls.

Rachel joins Clyde & Co's Regulatory & Investigations Group which operates internationally. This group has expanded recently in both London and Dubai through the hiring of partners and white collar specialists, Charles Kuhn in London and Matt Shanahan in Dubai

John Whittaker, Clyde & Co partner, comments: "Rachel is an excellent strategic fit for the practice combining a top class litigation record with highly relevant and very valuable in house compliance experience. We welcome her back ".

Rachel comments: "I am delighted to get the opportunity to return to Clyde & Co. I feel that now is the perfect time to take the practice I have built over the last few years to the next level within the framework of a firm I understand very well and which has unrivalled capabilities to advise clients across the full scope of regulatory activity."

Rachel's arrival follows the group's recent launch of a global private prosecutions service for businesses and individuals, drawing on Clyde & Co's strong multi-jurisdictional team of litigators and advocates with experience in civil and criminal proceedings, defending and prosecuting, both on behalf of the state and regulators.

Clyde & Co's Regulatory & Investigations Group helps clients build resilience against increasingly complex regulation, both locally and internationally, providing cross-border and multi-jurisdictional support to ensure they achieve and maintain compliance across their organisation. The group has the experience and knowledge to bolster compliance in established regulatory frameworks, and the capability to provide rapid, detailed responses to new regulations and legal requirements.
