We have a thorough understanding of the bloodstock market's sophisticated insurance needs

Our bloodstock team has experience of handling major equine, livestock, aquaculture and fisheries claims in the London market, including mortality, injury and infertility, and liability policies. We know the product and the industry well and this means that clients can trust us to resolve their cases as successfully, quickly and cost effectively as possible.

We represent Lloyd's syndicates and London and international insurers on bloodstock cases under a range of policies, including all risks mortality, infertility cover and law of use, with a particular focus on high-value equine matters.

Our team has a thorough understanding of the market's insurance products, which cover on a named-perils basis rather than on all risks. In addition, our claims experience spans a broad spectrum, from the kidnapping of the acclaimed Irish racehorse Shergar through to the deaths of stud alpacas and other livestock.

This is a market where the knowledge and information gap between what buyers believe that they have to provide on purchase and what is really required by insurers can lead to disputes. We have significant experience of such disputes worldwide.

We also advise insurers on the development of new products, along with other wordings used throughout the market.
