Clyde & Co expands market-leading Insurance and Regulatory and Investigations practice in Australia

Global law firm Clyde & Co continues to expand its market-leading Insurance and Regulatory and Investigations offering and bolsters its corporate insurance practice with the Partner hire of Matthew Ellis in Melbourne.  

Matt is a corporate and regulatory lawyer focused on the insurance sector, with an extensive track record across corporate transactions, the regulation of insurance products and services, regulatory investigations and financial services class actions. Besides Australia, Matt has spent over four years practising in the UK market and has acted for domestic and international insurers and intermediaries on local and cross-border mandates.

Matt joins from Norton Rose Fulbright and will work closely with partners Nicole Wearne, Ganga Narayanan and Mark Attard, who all moved to Clyde & Co’s Melbourne office from Norton Rose Fulbright in February 2020. Building on Clyde & Co’s global platform, Matt will work to grow the advisory and regulatory disputes practice and further strengthen the corporate and regulatory practice alongside Avryl Lattin and Dean Carrigan.

Clyde & Co’s global corporate insurance practice has a clear focus on insurance transactions including insurance business transfers and associated regulatory approvals, and with Matt, has now added one of very few corporate partners in Australia who have deep related expertise and experience.
