Richard has considerable experience of advising insurers on all aspects of coverage in relation to professional indemnity claims and claims made under Directors and Officers insurance policies. 

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1995.

Expérience

• Advising insurers in relation to claims made under D&O policies arising from concurrent SFO, DoJ and SEC investigations and criminal prosecutions against directors.
• Acting for insurers in relation to multiple mortgage fraud claims and advising on aggregation and dishonesty.
• Defending claims by lenders against solicitors and valuers.
• Bringing third party recovery claims under the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978.
• Advising insurers on coverage issues arising from theft of client money from a firm of solicitors.
• Representing solicitors and their insurers in relation to multiple claims made by lenders arising from the solicitor’s failure to register transfers and charges and dealing with subsequent title rectification in order to mitigate loss.
• Acting for solicitors on a breach of undertaking claim and successfully obtaining an order enforcing the terms of undertaking given by another firm of solicitors.
