Damian is a Partner in Clyde & Co's global projects and construction team, based in our Abu Dhabi office.

His disputes practice primarily accents major projects in the energy (conventional & renewables), power, infrastructure, construction, utilities, natural resources and maritime sectors.

A barrister of over 15 years’ experience, as counsel/advocate Damian has led numerous substantial international arbitrations around the world under the ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, SCMA, GAFTA, CIETAC, ADCCAC, DIAC, DIFC, LCIA and DIFC-LCIA rules.  He is also extensively experienced in conducting high-value litigations before the senior courts of Australia and England, plus expert determination and dispute review board proceedings.

Damian retains full Higher Rights of Audience before the English courts and has worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Sydney on a diverse range of global disputes, many featuring multi-billion dollar claims.

Power Disputes – Advising Saudi Arabian/UAE JV operator in its US$700M disputes with UAE Government entity power offtaker and Chinese/US JV EPC contractor concerning construction of a US$4 billion 2.4GW ultra-supercritical clean coal power plant and related infrastructure in UAE.

Power Dispute – Joint party appointment as legal expert to determine US$112M dispute between Saudi Arabian/Omani JV owner and Chinese JV EPC contractor concerning construction of a US$700 million 1510MW natural gas-fired power plant and related infrastructure in Oman.

Offshore Drilling Arbitration - Representing Singaporean shipyard owners in US$150 million SCMA arbitration against Norwegian oil & gas exploration company concerning refurbishment and upgrade of an offshore semi-submersible drilling rig in Netherlands.

Oil & Gas Dispute – Representing Italian oil & gas corporation in its dispute with British gas transportation company concerning pipeline transportation of natural gas and condensate from North Sea production fields to onshore England.

Petrochemical Disputes - Representing Saudi Arabian / American JV chemical corporation in its US$230 million disputes with Turkish and Italian EPC contractors concerning construction of a US$20 billion petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia.

Power & Desalination Dispute - Representing Saudi Arabian EPC JV operator in its US$615 million dispute with South Korean engineering contractor concerning construction of a US$3 billion 3100MW power and desalination plant in Saudi Arabia.

Oil & Gas Disputes – Representing British oil & gas company in its farmout agreement disputes with Italian oil & gas corporation and US energy company concerning exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons onshore Democratic Republic of Congo and onshore Colombia respectively.

LNG Dispute - Representing Yemeni national oil company in its US$300 million dispute with Yemeni oil & gas company, regarding LNG supply and operation contracts on a new US$4 billion 2-train LNG facility in Yemen.

Oil Pipeline Dispute - Representing Saudi Arabian oil & gas corporation in US$200 million DIFC-LCIA arbitration against Dutch pipeline contractor concerning construction of a 506km multi-product refined oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia.

LNG Dispute - Representing US EPC contractor in its US$600 million dispute with Australian oil & gas JV offtaker concerning upstream coal seam gas extraction operations as part of a US$19 billion 2-train LNG facility in Queensland.
