Profil complet

Kirsty Yuill is a partner in our Glasgow office. She works on our Scottish insurance team where she specialises in personal injury cases. Kirsty acts for insurers and self-insured clients as defenders in both the Court of Session (CS) and Sheriff Court (SC).

Throughout her career, Kirsty has acted for many legal expenses insurers and accident management companies. She represented pursuers and defenders before focusing on defender personal injury work.

Thanks to this, she has a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide array of claims: medical negligence, accidents at work, slips and trips and road traffic accidents involving severe and catastrophic injuries, multiple heads of claim and fatalities.

Kirsty has particular expertise in the handling of high-value and complex cases, and claims where there are validation concerns. She also has niche expertise in claims pursued concerning the Road Traffic Act 1988, Article 75, and the Uninsured Drivers’ Agreement. She regularly advises clients on issues of motor insurance disputes that concern the policy interpretation and application of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

She regularly participates in claim surgeries for insurer clients and delivers training on developing trends in Scotland. She is also known for working with insurers on litigation avoidance and strategy operations.

Additionally, Kirsty is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and sits on the Scottish FOIL fraud sector team. Outside of work, Kirsty serves as a Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) protection panel member. Here she deals with various disciplinary matters concerning child protection issues and provides advice to the SYFA on the fitness of candidates applying to become youth coaches.
