Building on the webinar discussion, this episode explores the distinct contrasts between litigation trends in the US and UK. Whilst the US is seeing nuclear verdicts, social inflation and no-injury lawsuits, the UK remains far behind in these extremities. However emerging trends, such as litigation funding, could have significant implications for UK insurers and businesses.

The England and Wales jurisdiction falls quite far behind the US in terms of the unfriendliness or the hostility to insurers. And I think the only thing that I would say that insurers do need to bear in mind is that there are these shifts in certain areas; in relation to litigation funding, in relation to the forum shopping aspect that need to be on the radar. But overall, I think that the climate here and the landscape here for insurers is still pretty balanced.
