Natalie commenced her career with the firm in 2011, having graduated from Edinburgh University with an LLB (Hons). Her current practice is in the Court of Session and All Scotland Personal Injury Sheriff Court representing Insurers in high-value cases, predominantly in connection with Employers Liability claims. She also acts on behalf of social care companies via Insurers in cases involving injuries sustained to employees and service users. Through Insurers Natalie has represented clients in criminal courts in connection with Health and Safety prosecutions.

Natalie was recently appointed to the All Scotland Personal Injury Sheriff Court user group and is currently undergoing the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme to become dual-qualified in England and Wales.

  • Providing advice to a client on the interpretation of a hire contract in a case involving substantial damage to a crane.
  • Securing abandonment in a case involving the alleged development of a hernia by an employee involved in manual handling at work over a number of years.
  • Representing an Insurer at a Fatal Accident Inquiry involving an employee who died after falling from a height.
  • Securing abandonment after being introduced as a Third Party in an action involving water damage sustained to a property following works carried out on-site in connecting pipes to the mains water supply.

Expertise

Natalie works in the catastrophic injury and large loss team specialising in defending Employers Liability and Public Liability claims on behalf of major Insurers. She also acts for Insurers in property damage, both pursuing and defending, as well as product liability claims. Natalie appears regularly in courts across Scotland and has experience in conducting Fatal Accident Inquiries.
