Elizabeth Hersey’s practice centers on insurance coverage litigation. Elizabeth has represented and counseled international and domestic insurers regarding issues across a broad range of types of insurance, including commercial general liability, professional liability/errors and omissions, property, mortgage insurance and financial institution liability, directors and officers, and employment practices liability. She has also collaborated with coverholders, intermediaries and administrators regarding underwriting and claims handling. Elizabeth has attended and participated in settlement conferences and mediations on behalf of clients.
Elizabeth is proficient in Russian. During her undergraduate years, she was a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Fellow, studying at the State Russian Herzen Pedagogical University in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Elizabeth also twice participated in the Intensive Summer Language School for Russian at Middlebury College in Vermont. Her law school note, "No Universal Target: Distinguishing between Terrorism and Human Rights Violations in Targeted Sanctions Regimes," won the Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing in 2014.
