Sam Hill is an energy lawyer, focusing on transactions in the LNG sector. He has considerable LNG marketing and shipping expertise, and experience advising on project development, corporate acquisitions, joint venture and operating agreements, and other energy sector transactions all over the world. Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Sam spent time working in senior roles with TotalEnergies, Anadarko and QatarGas. Sam is a member of the firm’s Energy & Construction Executive Committee.
Sam advises clients on a wide range of high-value transactions and has worked on project’s involving multiple jurisdictions. Sam has lived and worked in Oceania, the Middle East, and Asia and his practice involves energy sector clients all around the world. He has significant global LNG and maritime experience (SPAs, MSPAs, TCPs), coupled with extensive in-house “mega-project” experience, working alongside business professionals and executives, financiers, and technical experts.

Advising a significant Middle Eastern LNG company on its extensive portfolio of LNG sale & purchase agreements and all aspects concerning its chartered fleet of LNG carriers, including daily operational issues, claims & disputes, chartering, vessel modifications, and responses to emergency situations.
Advising Mozambique LNG / TotalEnergies on foundation LNG sale & purchase agreements, with counterparts located all around the world including in Japan, Indonesia, China, India, the Middle East and Europe and on the procurement of its chartered fleet of project dedicated newbuild LNG carriers.
Advising the LNG trading business of one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, on its LNG trading arrangements, including term and spot sales.
Advising a diversified trading company controlled by a Middle Eastern sovereign fund on its LNG sale and purchase arrangements, including in connection with US Gulf Coast LNG projects.
Advising a major diversified financial group on trade financing arrangements in respect of LNG sale and purchase transactions.
