Profil complet
C. Briggs Johnson’s practice focuses on legal challenges that involve complex legal issues, significant exposure, high-stakes trials, or the prospect of an appeal. Briggs advises on dispositive motions, trial motions, post-trial motions, and appellate and litigation strategy across the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey.
Briggs is regularly engaged at the outset of litigation to provide appellate and excess exposure monitoring, helping clients identify risks early and preserve critical legal arguments throughout the life of a case. He also attends trials to ensure legal defenses are properly maintained for potential appellate review.
His practice covers consequential matters involving catastrophic damages, where he drafts and argues dispositive, trial, and post-trial motions, as well as appellate briefs. Clients rely on his ability to navigate complex and developing areas of law, conduct detailed legal research, and develop practical strategies that support informed litigation decisions.
In addition to motion and appellate practice, Briggs provides assessments of the likelihood of success on dispositive motions and appeals, together with cost benefit analyses that help clients determine the most effective course of action. By combining legal insight with a commercial perspective, he helps clients manage litigation risk and make confident decisions at every stage of a dispute.
