Lydia is a Associate in the Projects & Construction group with experience advising a variety of clients on contentious and non-contentious construction matters and PPP/PFI projects.

Lydia is an Associate in the Global Projects & Construction Group. She acts for a range of clients including employers, developers, contractors, consultants and project consortia. She advises on all aspects of project and construction disputes, including court, arbitration and adjudication proceedings and mediations, with experience in the construction sector and on PPP/PFI projects across the social, healthcare and education sectors.

Lydia’s non-contentious experience includes advising on the operational aspects of PPP and PFI projects, including extensions to project facilities, changes to the provision of services, interfaces with multiple stakeholders, and the replacement of sub-contractors.

Expérience
  • Advising a number of major UK contractors and housebuilders on fire safety defects across portfolios of residential and mixed-use developments.
  • Acting for a UK contractor in an adjudication and Technology and Construction Court proceedings relating to construction defects on a PFI care home project.
  • Acting for a UK contractor on a stadium dispute.
  • Advising Project Co on multi-party service failure and defect disputes and the partial termination of a PFI hospital project, as well as providing ongoing operational advice.
  • Advising the service provider up to financial close on Irish higher education PPP projects.
  • Advising a bidding consortium on a healthcare PPP project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Advised an SPV on the management and maintenance of a domestic acute hospital, and project counsel advice on service provider performance monitoring as well as providing ongoing operational advice.
  • Acting for the Building Contractor and Development Contractor on the novation and entry into the relevant PFI construction contracts including advise on the obligations contained within the project documents and the recovery of any deductions from the relevant subcontractors.
