John O’Shea is based in our London office where he is a partner of the property team. He has over 25 years of experience in handling property-related insurance claims.
John works closely with insurers to protect their business by helping to shorten the lifecycle of claims and identifying instances of fraud.
John is regularly instructed on high-value, complex losses often involving multi-party actions. He has particular experience in dealing with claims that involve large construction projects, property investor schemes, real estate, and heritage properties. He also acts on behalf of clients operating in the rail industry.
John advises on the defence of liability claims. He also has extensive experience in the pursuit of subrogated recoveries on all classes of (non-injury) related losses in domestic and commercial matters. Such claims include the application of warranties, conditions and exclusion clauses, incorporation terms, and misrepresentation and non-disclosure.
John’s recent cases include a number of high value and technically challenging fire spread losses on housing developments. He is also lead partner for a core participant in a case concerning a high profile fire in West London.
