Sarah Pozzi focuses on advising and defending insurance companies in complex coverage disputes. Sarah has extensive experience navigating insurance coverage issues across a wide range of insurance issues and policies, including commercial general liability, personal property, commercial auto coverage, construction risks, surplus lines coverages, and bad faith avoidance.

There she developed her background in Oregon-specific practice and gained particular experience defending professional malpractice claims against insurance agents and brokers under errors and omissions policies.
Since returning to Seattle in 2021, Sarah has strengthened her Washington practice, guiding insurers through claims under the Insurance Fair Conduct Act and Consumer Protection Act, as well as advising on covenant judgment litigation unique to Washington.

Represented a large, global insurance company in a multi-party lawsuit over coverage for claims related to per- and polyfluoroalkyls (PFAS) in Aqueous Film-Forming Foam. Prepared and defended that insurer’s corporate designee witness on topics unique to underwriting commercial high-level excess insurance policies, including "emerging risk" considerations.
Representative work includes advising a carrier on obligations under a primary-layer multi-national insurance program issued to a US-based turbomachinery manufacturer with global subsidiary operations. This work involved closely monitoring an underlying lawsuit over an explosion at one of Europe’s largest petrochemical steam-cracking plants, as well as extensive analysis of the program’s difference-in-conditions and difference-in-limits provisions.
Represented an insurance company client at trial in Portland, Oregon, within the context of a decade-long multi-party insurance contribution lawsuit under Oregon’s Environmental Cleanup Assistance Act (OECAA). During the trial, secured finality for client by obtaining an order of dismissal from the lawsuit and purported lingering contribution cross-claims.
