Kaitlin acts in commercial and professional indemnity litigation. She assists in defending litigated and non-litigated complex common law and statutory liability matters, including, but not limited to, professional indemnity claims against builders, engineers, architects and lawyers.
Kaitlin has experience in managing high value and multi-party complex litigation in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia. She is experienced appearing on behalf of clients in interlocutory applications in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts.
Kaitlin has also spent time working in London, gaining experience in both international regulatory investigations and high-profile litigation.

Construction Professional Indemnity
Acting for global insurers in defence of a AUD25 million claim against a structural engineering consultant arising from excessive slab deflections on several floors of two residential high-rise towers.
Acting on behalf of design engineers in relation to an upgrade of a Queensland motorway, with allegations of design, construction and maintenance defects.
Defending claims against a civil and structural engineering firm in relation to claims by the head contractor in relation to allegedly defective geotechnical investigations and structural design of a performing arts centre at a Brisbane school. The claim is for AUD $4 million.
Complex Litigation
Acting in defence of a AUD 21m cladding claim made against a building surveyor in relation to the installation of combustible cladding (aluminium composite panels) on a landmark commercial building in Brisbane CBD.
Defending unfair preference claims (and other insolvency related claims) to obtain commercially preferable outcomes for clients.
Assisted in the successful defence on behalf of directors against a claim brought by ASIC in the Federal Court of Australia for several breaches of directors’ duties.
Construction
Defending a civil contractor in a claim against it for negligence and breach of contract in respect of alleged defective earthworks in regional Queensland. The claim is for AUD $6 million.
