Karn advises multinational corporations, listed companies, and technology platforms on complex regulatory and contentious matters in Thailand, including internal investigations, data protection, and disputes with cross-border elements.

He has extensive experience managing large-scale factual investigations involving allegations of fraud, supply-chain misconduct, and regulatory breaches, as well as matters involving Thailand’s anti-corruption authorities and related proceedings. Karn also regularly advises on technology, privacy, and platform liability issues. He has worked with leading technology platforms in high-risk litigation and represents global service providers on data protection matters, including a first-of-its-kind PDPA proceeding that addressed service-provider responsibilities 
under Thailand’s evolving regulatory framework.

In addition to his practice, Karn is regularly invited as a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University. He has also served as a policy researcher for Thai government agencies, contributing to legal reform initiatives and policy recommendations on Thailand’s preparation for European Union regulatory frameworks relating to supply chain management and sustainability due diligence.

Expérience
  • Represented a global cloud service provider in a first-of-its-kind PDPA enforcement proceeding concerning alleged unlawful disclosure of personal data; advising on regulatory responsibilities of cloud providers in responding to data-subject requests and assessing potential liability where acting under unlawful instructions from data controllers.
  • Led Thai-law investigation in a landmark class action before the London High Court concerning alleged inadequate supply chain audits and severe labor abuses by a supplier in Mae Sot, Thailand; advised on factual strategy and Thai-law issues in the first case of its kind involving Thailand.
  • Defended a major ride-hailing platform in multiple personal-injury claims where plaintiffs sought to attribute liability to the platform as an alleged apparent agent.
  • Investigated and advised on a claim brought by the National Anti-Corruption Commission relating to alleged unlawful conversion of national forestry land into a golf course in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, and subsequently represented former directors in related criminal proceedings.
  • Secured a pre-arbitration emergency injunction from Thai Court against Thai local supplier, prior to client's commencement of SIAC arbitration. Advised the same client in DIPW proceeding concerning the revocation of factory license due to alleged breach of environmental regulations.
  • Advised client on antitrust strategy on unfair trade practice aspect under Thai law for client in steel manufacturing sector where former supplier commenced complaint with the TCCC following client's termination of supply agreement.
  • Represented various creditors in Aviation sector pertaining to administration of Nok Airline PLC, and Thai Air Asia X during their respective rehabilitations, advised and supported client from the Debt Submission strategy, Plan Amendments, and related procedural disputes raised by Debtor.
