Global law firm Clyde & Co has advised Beechcraft Defense Company on two Ministry of Defence PFI contracts
The PFI contracts, signed on 3 February, are in relation to a new training system that forms part of a wider deal agreed in 2008. Over £1bn is to be invested in the new Fixed Wing flying training system, which will provide the MoD with modern training aircraft as well as up-to-date ground-based training facilities such as simulators and classroom learning.
Clyde & Co's projects and construction team, led by partner Liz Jenkins with senior associate Catherine Johnston advised Beechcraft Defense Company, a US military aircraft supplier who are providing 10 Beechcraft T-6C Texan II military training aircraft to the MOD, alongside five years of engineering services, parts support, maintenance training and the placement of on-site field service representatives who provide ongoing technical expertise.
