Michael is a partner in the Dispute Resolution Group at Clyde & Co in Dubai. He moved to Dubai in January 2016, prior to which he spent 8 years with Clyde & Co in the UK. Michael has extensive experience advising litigants on a wide range of complex liability and coverage disputes, with a particular focus on property & casualty, product liability & recall, and medical malpractice & healthcare risks. Michael is recommended for Insurance by Legal 500.

Michael has a particular focus on complex policy coverage and business interruption advice, working on claims in the commercial property, hospitality, manufacturing and energy sectors. Specifically, Michael has represented re/insurers in several significant tower fire claims in the GCC, regularly speaking on the issues that such claims present.

In respect of medical malpractice and healthcare, Michael regularly advises medical professionals, hospitals and clinics on both contentious and non-contentious matters. This includes providing representation before regulatory authorities and in both criminal and civil litigation. Michael is co-head of Clyde & Co’s MEA Healthcare Group.

Michael regularly advises re/insurers on general liability claims (coverage, monitoring and defence) arising under Commercial General Liability, Employers’ Liability & Workmens’ Compensation, and Public & Product Liability policies across a variety of different sectors and jurisdictions.
