Sven is a highly experienced litigation and dispute resolution lawyer with a particular focus on complex domestic and multi-jurisdictional (re)insurance claims, commercial and corporate disputes. He regularly advises and represents clients in court proceedings, international arbitration (institutional and ad hoc), and all forms of alternative dispute resolution. Sven serves as Managing Partner of Clyde & Co’s Munich office.

Frequently retained as monitoring, defence and coverage counsel across a broad spectrum of insurance classes, particularly financial and professional lines (W&I, D&O, E&O and PI), fine art and specie, product and general liability, and casualty, Sven advises on and manages high-value and complex claims. He has substantial experience representing clients in aviation, banking, broking, commercial, corporate and post-M&A, construction, and insolvency disputes, as well as recourse and recovery proceedings.

Admitted to the German Bar (Rechtsanwalt), he is also qualified as a certified specialist for Insurance Law (Fachanwalt für Versicherungsrecht) and a certified specialist for Banking and Capital Markets Law (Fachanwalt für Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht).

• Representing insurers as monitoring and coverage counsel in numerous domestic and international transactional risk insurance (TRI) claims with a value of well above €1.5 billion in total, including (i) an insurer in the €120 million settlement under a warranty & indemnity (W&I) insurance policy in Schur Flexibles post-M&A dispute and (ii) the primary insurer in a €270 million arbitration 
• Representing insurers as monitoring and coverage counsel in numerous domestic and international D&O claims 
• Defending insureds in D&O and in Professional Indemnity claims, including lawyers, engineers and architects 
• Handling domestic and international product liability and recall cases in the automotive, food/beverages, chemical and technology industries 
• Defending insureds in personal injury litigation 
• Handling domestic and international liability cases, including the aviation, energy and construction sector
