Isabella’s expertise encompasses a range of insurance and health related claims, including general liability, personal injury (including fatality and catastrophic injuries), historical abuse (sexual and physical), institutional abuse, dust disease, medical negligence and property (first and third party).  

She has represented both plaintiff and defendant clients in unlitigated and litigated proceedings brought against global and domestic insurers and their insureds across all Australian jurisdictions. 

Her experience in litigation and compensation law has informed her commercially focused approach to defending claims with significant focus on achieving optimal outcomes for each of her clients.

Expérience

• Acting for disability service providers and supported independent living providers in claims arising from sexual abuse and/or intentional tort.
• Acting for out of home care providers and religious institutions in personal injury claims arising from historical child abuse.
• Advising insurers on policy and insurance slip wordings, placements and exclusions. 
• Acting in relation to multi-party personal injury claims relating large scale commercial developments and construction site injuries. 
• Acting for insurers of manufacturers and occupiers in claims of exposure to asbestos and/or silica dust emanating from asbestos sheets and/or stone. These claims commonly involve multiple defendants and the application of the standard presumptions for determining apportionment.
• Acting in personal injury claims involving injuries to persons in hotels, on residential and commercial properties and on ski fields.
