Gian Marco is a Senior Associate in Clyde & Co’s Energy, Marine and Natural Resources team in Singapore. An English-qualified lawyer, he focuses on complex commercial disputes with particular expertise in international trade. He brings deep sector knowledge in shipping and commodities gained from his time at a leading London law firm and through secondments with major global trading companies.

Gian Marco regularly acts for clients in high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes before the courts and international arbitration tribunals under GAFTA, FOSFA, LCIA, LMAA, ICC, SAA, and SIAC rules. His practice encompasses a wide range of issues, including disputes arising from sale and purchase agreements for both soft and hard commodities, guarantees, letters of credit, charterparties, ship and yacht building contracts, bills of lading, cargo damage, marine casualties, multijurisdictional enforcement, and arbitration appeals. He has also represented clients in significant arbitrations and litigation involving sanctions and employment related issues.

In addition to his contentious work, Gian Marco advises on non-contentious matters, including drafting and negotiating charterparty templates, commodity sale contracts, oil-specific agreements, and energy-related contracts. He also provides strategic guidance on regulatory developments, such as IMO emissions regulations. Gian Marco holds an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Bristol. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian and has a good command of Spanish.
