Gabriella is a Maltese advocate and foreign qualified lawyer within Clyde & Co LLP’s London aviation liability practice. Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Gabriella briefly worked at a UK satellite company reviewing and drafting commercial contracts and at a Maltese law firm specialising in civil and corporate litigation. 

In addition to her law degree, Gabriella graduated with an Advanced LLM in Air and Space Law (cum laude) from Leiden University. At present, her practice involves a broad range of aviation liability and regulatory work, both contentious and non-contentious. 

Gabriella has published articles on aviation law and space law in peer-reviewed journals such as Wolters Kluwer’s Air and Space Law, and presented papers at conferences such as the International Astronautical Congress. She is also co-author of the UK Chapter of the Aviation Law Review. Her undergraduate thesis on domestic space legislation was used by the Government of Malta in 2022 to develop Malta’s national space strategy.

  • Advising on UK and EU ownership and control issues for airlines
  • Advising on the development of a helicopter charter company
  • Drafting terms and conditions for a helicopter charter company
  • Advising non-EU airlines in respect of their proposed commencement of services to and from the UK
  • Advising on airlines’ green marketing to ensure it meets regulatory requirements related to green claims
  • Advising a major MRO on contractual issues arising from the purchase of aircraft parts and equipment
  • Advising on consumer law issues emanating from airlines’ conditions of carriage
  • Advising airlines in respect of passenger rights issues for delays, cancellations and denied boarding pursuant to EU Regulation 261/2004 and UK 261
  • Advising an airline on the set-up of its travel credit scheme
  • Representing several airlines and their insurers in aviation liability claims
  • Advising a major airline on the acquisition of an ATOL licence holder
