Clyde & Co advises SSY on its acquisition of F3 Offshore

Clyde & Co has advised Simpson Spence Young (SSY), the world’s largest independent shipbroker, on its acquisition of F3 Offshore Group, the offshore specialist shipbroker with offices in Hamburg and Dubai.

Following this acquisition, SSY will open its 24th global office in Hamburg, Germany while expanding its existing presence in Dubai, UAE.

Established in 1880, SSY operates from Europe, UK, Middle East, Asia, and the Americas covering all the major shipping and commodity locations and providing around the clock service. Founded in 2009, F3 Offshore were the first brokerage to specialise in North Sea renewables and have fast become a key player in both the North Sea and the Middle East respectively. 

Clyde & Co acted as lead external counsel to SSY. The team was led by partner Phil O’Riordan (corporate) and senior associate Afraz Hussain (corporate) who were supported by senior associates, Amy Guest (employment), and Lee Rogers (employment); and associates Paul Kirk (corporate) and Sara Magdy (corporate).
